Jan 23, 2023 · Just a little empirical data, regarding scale dying. I have used Rit liquid dye on FRN and G10. Here are my thoughts... Standard RIT dye is great for FRN. Does a good job of changing color. G10 results are mediocre...kinda depends on the G10 color. Rit dyemore....the product for synthetic material....much more effective on G10.

Oct 31, 2018 · Nah, you can dye that. Get some Rit cloth dye, dissolve in hot ( very hot but not boiling) water. Toss the knife in, let it set until the dye is cool. Wash with soap and a nylon brush until you can blot dry without bleed onto a paper towel.

Sep 12, 2021 · Over on the Spyderco forum there are a surprising number of people who dye handle scales. Jade/Natural G10 seems to be a popular one to dye, although various colors of FRN get the treatment also. Never had the urge to try it myself, but guys seem to get some pretty decent results. Durability seems surprisingly good, all things considered.
