My experience working with Redfin and a traditional broker to sell
I've looked up a few recommended Redfin agents before and at least a few had serious backgrounds in real estate, like working as a traditional agent for 10+ years prior to joining Redfin. That's probably going to be a lot better than a young post-grad agent who started their first job at …
Redfin 1% listing fee -- what is the catch??? - Reddit
Redfin agents are on payroll. That’s nice for new agents because they don’t have to go looking for deals. The strategy is entirely different. People go to Redfin to work with the organization & get the benefits of the organization, rather than working with a single real estate agent.
Is Redfin's estimate totally worthless? : r/RealEstate - Reddit
Apr 2, 2023 · Not worthless, but it indexes on what the seller lists it for because the seller knows more about the house than Redfin. For example the higher price could be because significant renovations are done. However after a house is sold I find Redfin estimate to be accurate within 1 year of sale because it uses comps to adjust the house value.

Redfin is about 25% higher than my mortgage lender and 10% higher than Zillow. Interestingly enough my redfin initial cash now price was only about 10% more than my mortgage lenders price.

Dec 25, 2021 · Redfin is a great place to learn the ins and outs of real estate but that’s about it. In order to make $4k-$6k a month (which is close to impossible) you literally have to work everyday all day including weekends.
Is Redfin too good to be true? : r/homeowners - Reddit
Redfin tells realtors "I'll give you several times the number of houses that you're getting right now, but you have to accept that the per-house commission is going to drop. You'll make a lot more in the end but you'll have to sell more houses." Often realtors work both on and off Redfin and charge 50% of their regular rate for leads from there.
Shady tactics of Redfin's price estimates : r/RealEstate - Reddit
Now, Redfin says their estimate in 2019 was $1.5m, and current estimate is $1.9m. Based on comps, I’d actually guess it’s closer to $1.6m. So, their estimates are way off, and I’m not sure why they retroactively replaced a piece of good data with a piece of bad.
