Ray Gun is statistically identical from World at War to Black Ops III; the introduction of more and better weapon mechanics unfortunately muted its uses. Black Ops 4 it was useful again because with the health cap one shot to the head is all it took for zombies to eventually bleed out, or just a decent amount of shots on the ground.

Nov 18, 2013 · After the initial hype of the gun died down, I can now directly compare it to the Ray Gun Mk I. The Mk II I find very viable and quite useful in taking down large groups fast. What it lacks in splash damage it makes up for in direct damage. The only real complaint I have with it is the ammo capacity.

Jul 9, 2019 · Build the Ray Gun Mark 2 at the kit (depends on where you built the kit). Ray Gun Mark II Y (Orange): Find a mound of dirt that has a green mist coming from it around the map. (I found it in the backyard of yellow house, but it may change locations each game.) Shoot a zombie on top of it with the Brain Rot ability on your weapon.

15 years ago was bo1, where the ray gun was also pretty lackluster (especially compared to most of the other wonder weapons). Wasn’t until more recent entries where it was actually a strong contender. Other than that your point stands.

Ray Gun back in the day was THE gun to have. Mk 2 was a damn fun gun to use, but the Paralyzer was THE gun to have. Mk 3 was a blast to use, my favorite and THE gun to use. My personal ranking would be: Mk 3 OG Ray Mk 2 Although the Mk 2 was a more fun gun than the OG, the OG was a must have in WaW and Black Ops.

If on co-op, only one needs Rai-K just for the slow effect and rest can have the ray gun. All should have die too. If not, a weapon with turn or dead wire. Dead wire with tier 5 is really good. If you can both hold Rai-K and Ray gun, obv both. But imo Rai-K is very good for it's utility. Also Ring of fire plus Rai-K orb + explosion does a lot ...
