Raploch, a village in Stirling parish, Stirlingshire, adjacent to the Forth and Clyde railway, immediately under the NW side of Stirling Castle, ¾ mile W of Stirling Bridge, and within the parliamentary burgh.

This article explores the experience of belonging and identity, and the social distance and separateness which has long characterised aspects of Stirling’s Raploch housing estate.

A district of Stirling, Raploch lies to the northwest of the Castle Rock, a mile from the centre of Stirling. Formerly a separate community, very little survives of the old village. The houses of Raploch council estate facing the Drip Road were designed in 1920 by E.S. Bell to resemble small Scottish palaces complete with towers and turreted roofs.
