Lake Rabun is a twisty 835-acre (3.4 km 2) reservoir with 25 miles (40 km) of shoreline located in the Northeastern corner of the U.S. state of Georgia in Rabun County. It is the third lake in a six-lake series that follows the original course of the Tallulah River.

May 30, 2018 · The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Tallulah Falls Dam and the surrounding area, especially affecting campgrounds and other low-lying areas along the Tallulah River between Lake Rabun and Tallulah Gorge.

Six dams and generating stations ultimately were built between 1913 and 1927, sending 166,420 kilowatts of power to Atlanta. The Tallulah and Tugalo rivers thus became the most completely developed, continuous stretch of waterway in the country for hydroelectric power.

Lake Rabun at an elevation of 1689 feet , with a surface area of 835 acres and 25 miles of shoreline, is the second largest lake in the six lake chain. While not as large as Lake Burton, Rabun offers water skiing, fishing, and wonderful afternoon cruises.
