Jan 24, 2018 · The program from Autodesk is used to make RVT files, thus it will open files in this format, too. If you do not have already got Revit and you are not coming up with on buying it, you'll still open the RVT file for free with the Revit trial. Edited by Discussion_Admin

But in the old days, yes, it was originally installed with Revit. and for some reason it was gone later an di had to re-install the pack. and no, i don't just delete files from my C-drive.

Mar 13, 2023 · Hi, There is some sort of problem with downloading older versions of the sample files but if you use Edge browser, at least for me I get some sort of download and then if you change the extension of the .crdownload files to .rvt, you will be able to open in Revit as normal.

As @SteveKStafford has mentioned, Revit does not offer backward compatibility so you will not be able to open this 2024 .rvt file in Revit 2023. With that said you can try using an IFC export method as detailed here but you will most likely be subject to loss of data through this process.
