Aug 18, 2011 · The AES-10B is not quite a Century mock up so to speak, i.e. they are actually built in Romania. Century just adds US trigger sets, a piston rod, a pistol grip and opens up the magwell. These are basically real Romanian assembled RPK's, on Romanian semi-auto RPK receivers (if there is such a thing as a semi-automatic RPK, hehe).

Jul 11, 2007 · the RPK bipod free floats around the barrel, it is retained by the front sight base. to install/remove all you need to do is remove the front sight base. the problem you will have is with the missing attachment hardware. I have all of it except the nut. you could (if you have a machinist buddy) take the bolt and modify it into a nut.

The bipod with the Russian type barrel mount but adjustable legs appeared sometime around 1974. The unique Romanian bipod that with removeable and combined with adjustable legs appeared at least by 1977.

Sep 30, 2024 · The first Romanian RPK's they produced are a pretty close copy of the early Russian ones with the ribbed dust cover, no lightening cut bolt carrier, and non-adjustable bipod. Use a receiver with dimples (instead of a "slab" version) and it's even closer. Plus I think those wingnuts on the bipod look funny.

Oct 24, 2008 · Note the shorter length, and the bipod does not have enough range of motion to clear the cleaning rod without bending it as the rifle is laid to rest. Also note that this bipod is hinged to be quick releasable--which is a nice feature. The finish appears to be a somewhat durable black oxide finish, as compared to the RPK bipod shown below.
