Hey! Emissions testing state here. I bought a car from a dealer and got it looked at by my mechanic days later (I worked 5 days straight). He told me there were no cats on the car and the car was in limp mode as a result (among a few other things). I told the dealer I’d like them to tow the car back up (100 miles) to them and process my refund.

I’ve got an opportunity to buy a smart car in the cheap. All black. Living in Los Angeles, seems easy enough to wrap the doors in white and add CHP stars on the doors. I can’t think of any reason this ‘tribute car’ would get me in any trouble, unless of course I was trying to pull someone over or impersonate an officer. Would anyone know?
