The Queensland Railways C19 class locomotive was a class of 4-8-0 steam locomotives operated by the Queensland Railways. The C19 class was designed as a superheated version of the C18 class.

They were the largest conventional type locomotives to operate on QR. The class was originally used for heavy Mail Train work and important North Coast Line traffic. They were eventually displaced from Mail Train working by B18¼ class engines.

They and their derivative, the C19 Class were the largest conventional engines to run on QR. In March 1915, N°693 was named Sir William MacGregor after the then Governor of Queensland and N°694, Lady MacGregor after his wife.

Until 1889, each of the isolated sections of the Queensland Railways adopted its own locomotive numbering system. With the impending joining of most of the sections, in 1890 a new centralised classification system was adopted to eliminate duplications.

Preserved C19 No.700 entered service with Queensland Railways in August 1923. While most of the C19 class were withdrawn between 1955 and 1957 as a result of the first wave of dieselisation, a handful remained until 1962.

Thirty-five of these locomotives were going to be C18 engines, but Chief Mechanical Engineer, Charles Pemberton, decided to alter the design and install 19 inch cylinders while retaining the 4-8-0 wheel arrangement of the C18s.
