Hello. I just want to know how we can convert microgram/cm2 to ppm. We tested our leather using the XRF scanner and the result we got was 26 micro gram/cm2 and we don't know if it failed or pass as the limit for lead content is 300 ppm for substrate and 90 ppm for surface paint coating.

Jul 12, 2012 · If you have a dry mixture it is almost certainly weight/weight, and 0.1 ppm means 0.1 µg/g. Divide the 0.1 µg by 43 (atomic weight) to convert to micromoles, and divide the gram (technically the remainder is only 0.999 9999 g) by its molar mass to convert to moles.

Dec 6, 2008 · Ppm is ALWAYS confusing (hence deprecated) as to what basis it is stated on. However, the density of the solution is given, 1.3 g/mL. It does NOT state that the ppm is given as mass/volume. While I acknowledge the equivalence of 1 kg = 1 L for dilute aqueous solutions, ppm should have equivalent units in the numerator and denominator.

Mar 23, 2006 · Re: ug/kg, ug/L to ppm ppm stands for parts per million. There is 1000g in a kg, 1,000,000mg in a kg, and 1,000,000,000ug in a kg. 1000ug/kg is therefore 1ppm 1800ug/L is 1.8ppm. If you are talking about volumes, 1000mL = 1L, 1,000,000uL = 1L, so 1uL/L = 1ppm. - this is particularly important with gases.
