Nov 29, 2021 · Firstly, I like Piran, so would definitely go there, Trieste too. When in Triests head to Miramare Castle, its a 15 min bus ride, or 10min train ride and then about a 10 min walk. Castello di Duino is another place close by worth checking out.

Jun 6, 2024 · I haven't been to Trieste, but I found Piran to be quite unremarkable (in contrast with the rest of Slovenia, which was sublime). Nice seafood and pretty views, but seemed mostly tailored to elderly vacationers on deck chairs. Depends what you're looking for.

Nov 16, 2015 · I have one day I can spend in either Piran and Koper, Slovenia (well, Koper and the surrounding area, but I think I want to see Piran if I choose this option), or Trieste, Italy. Trieste is a slightly longer bus ride, since I'm starting from northern Croatia.

Sep 25, 2023 · The best and cheapest option would probably be prevoz.org, car sharing. Its pretty safe (in case you are a solo female travelller). From the coast it should be 1h/1.30h to the capital. If you cant find a ride from Piran, try searching for Koper-Ljubljana and take a bus to Koper.
