Feb 17, 2025 · I was fit in Ping Canada for i530. Launch was low so retro was recommended. The did not have the retro head to hit, which was surprising to me. I also did another fitting at Dick’s House Of Sports and while I found the launch of the JPX 925 Forged low, I enjoyed the feel and look a bit more. I would probably add a degree of loft to these as well.

Ping nailed it on looks and performance but for me failed miserably in the sound/feel department. If they could make the i530 sound and feel like the i230 they would be the best selling iron on the market.

Apr 10, 2024 · The i530/i525 compared to i230 from a ball speed/launch standpoint would be a little different as you know. Generally, i530/i525 will launch lower with more ball speed compared to the i230. The i530/i525 will have a slight forgiveness advantage over i230 but very little."

The i230 is already a very forgiving iron -- arguably the most forgiving in its category, I'd say. But the i530 takes the forgiveness up a couple steps. I hit some really bad shots with it, and Trackman was showing impact location.
