Here is the calibration information for the Phob. If you ask your modder to set all this up for you, it will be pretty close to plug & play. (you might need to press B after you plug in.) The idea behind a phob is that they will never wear down. Obviously the rubber on the stick will still wear away but you wont need to buy a new controller.

Jun 5, 2022 · hm and what about other parts of my gcc? the current mods i would want to have are plugs, tactile z, maybe spring removal, bold buttons, stickbox (or whatever its called) and obviously phob. melee would be the game that i would mainly play and i want this controller to last for at least 1-2 years before i have to start letting it be repaired by someone else

Aug 10, 2022 · Just get a conversion for 125$. You guys ever use Etsy?? Go to the discord, look up the vendors, ask for a phob conversion with your current controller. Send your controller to their address, receive it back a week later. It’s really not too complex, mucin easier than assembling your own. Carvac charges around 125$
Does the phob need any special adapter to play ultimate?
Aug 28, 2023 · I have my phob for about 6-7 months now and it works fine just like any GameCube controller. You just need a regular GameCube adapter. Though Very rarely, sometimes at my locals/tournaments, they have different or off brand adapters that tinkers with my controller and doesn’t recognize it or forces my stick to keep moving left.

Jan 9, 2023 · For Phob 2, to install the firmware, simply hold the button on the PCB while connecting to your computer using USB, and drag and drop the .uf2 firmware file from the release page (at the top of this post) into the USB Mass Storage device.

Jan 19, 2023 · Phob had a setting to make the lightest pressure register the minimum value needed for ult. I set mine to 100 using smashscope. I think you use mode 4 or 5; guide is on github. Now, with the lightest pressure using the triggers, I get shield from the analog slider only. I removed the membrane part at the bottom since it wasn't needed anymore.

Phob devs may come out with a phob 3.0 in a few years and there’s going to be a portion of the community looking to buy a new controller even though they have a phob already. They could also start on a modded oem and just get a phob conversion down the road. It’s just overkill to be starting your smash journey on a phob in my opinion.
