Feb 15, 2021 · KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – The PFLNG DUA, Petronas’ second FLNG facility has produced first LNG from the Rotan gas field, 140 km (87 mi) offshore Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. In collaboration with partner PTTEP, Petronas completed the subsea commissioning phase and achieved first gas on Feb. 6, 2021.

The second Petronas FLNG (PFLNG 2) is located at the Rotan field, northeast of Sabah. Upon the terms of agreement, GE will supply four of its PGT25+G4 gas turbine generator systems and two nitrogen trains featuring two LM6000-PF+ 2BCL907 aeroderivative gas turbines in mechanical-drive mode.

The PETRONAS Liquefied Natural Gas (PFLNG) 2 is PETRONAS’ second deepwater LNG production unit with the capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per annum. The PFLNG 2 is located at Rotan Gas Field, 240km offshore Sabah.
