If you're just interested in experiencing mescaline, there are other mescaline bearing cacti that are sold legally throughout the United States. The most common are San Pedro and Peruvian Torch Cacti.

Jul 14, 2004 · as far as i know peyote doesnt grow in Arizona naturally, it grows along the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. It grows in a very hot and dry climate. El paso Texas probably has some there and into mexico. I know the Rio Grande Valley on the Texas and Mexican side is where it grows, the only problem is identifying it properly.

May 6, 2005 · I have found an online site that sells cuttings (2 - 3cm) which apparently contain or consist of one peyote button each (I understand that it is the button rather than any other part of the cactus that needs to be consumed for the trip to occur). I would very much like to know how many buttons should be consumed for a first time trip.

May 13, 2011 · Since san pedro is faster-growing, legal and easier to care for, I'd definitely go with that. Peyote is getting more and more rare and has a special aura about it, but when it comes down to it it's the mescaline that really matters. Plus, you'd likely have to grow several peyote plants to make it worth your time (unless I'm mistaken).
