I'm particularly intrigued in assessing people's experiences with non-Cubensis species like Pan cyan, and being able to make comparisons between these species, and others. I think at the very least we need 20 respondents per species before we can start to draw any meaningful patterns, but the more data, the better.

Jul 4, 2020 · I did pan cyans for my first grow in 6 years but I had done quite a few before. I personally recommend doing agar work for them or at the very least not using an MSS. I wouldn't say they're extremely difficult but they're very sensitive to their environment so you really have to stay on top of your temps, humidity, etc.

Pan cyan and P. cubensis are only distantly related species, each belonging to different genera and families (but it is thought that the Panaeolus genus acquired its psilocybin producing ability via horizontal gene transfer from the Psilocybe genus).

Oct 4, 2023 · There are different geological subgroups but pan cyan is a singular species. TTBVI for example can directly breed with say Estero or TX… Think dog breeds… They may look different but they are the same species. TTBVI is only stronger as it was previously cultivated and bred for potency… TTBVI is definitely my favorite in terms of effects.

Feb 19, 2022 · Yeah, looks like mold, not myc. I did a few Pan Cyan runs, and my jars colonized faster and looked different. Do a smell test, best way to tell. They are harder to grow then cubes, but totally worth it. Good luck!

Jun 4, 2018 · My Pan cyan "Hawaii" has thrived in a karo and light malt LC and colonised it rapidly (whereas Pan cambo 'Sandose Domesticate' and 'Goliath' did not take to it. Dung is important for healthy and abundant fruitings, I use horse manure with mine, it is free, abundant and can be locally sourced.

I grew up in NY and started growing cubes in high school circa 2002. In 2006 I moved to Costa Rica by myself with $100 dollars and worked as a chef for $250 dollars a month. Needless to say I had to forage for cubes as a side hustle to sell to tourists. Cubes and pan cyan were all I knew.

May 24, 2023 · I absolutely would’ve tried it and ruined my 3rd attempt at pan cyans. I did have to pasteurize instead of sterilize for the casing (sous vide pasteurization is absurdly easy), but so far it looks great!
