Jul 5, 2021 · Very nice PDW's, and thanks for the great write up. The Maxim brace saves almost 1-1/2" when "closed", so that is kinda nice. But like you said, the SB's standard buffer parts are a plus as well. I'm trying to keep it at least 26" overall due to my state rules. The SB-PDW gives me about 27" OAL when closed, so the maxim may be a touch too short.

Nov 17, 2017 · If SBRing the PDW, I'd look at the Stryke industries PDW stock. If keeping it unregistered and as a pistol, I'd seriously look at the Maxim CQB pistol PDW brace. Both of these allow you to use a standard bolt carrier group. Personally I don't like the looks of the AR buffer tube folders so PDWs are more sexy IMO.

Dec 22, 2017 · The law folder is worth it. I have one on mine with a KaK brace. Makes putting in and out of a backpack or car much easier. Law tactical has been tested many times in the LE community. If you are familiar with Aaron Cowan of Sage Dynamics or the excellent forum Primary and Secondary; both sources use the law folder in full time LEO capacity.

Dec 2, 2020 · I have a lower waiting on a form 1 and I have an SB PDW brace on another pistol. I'm thinking for this SBR build I'd like a Maxim CCS stock but I'd like to "convert" my existing SB PDW to a rifle stock (on the stamped lower of course) by getting this to save some money.

Dec 22, 2017 · The SB Tac brace isn't so bad. But if I had to choose between the 2, it would be the Maxim. It looks better, has more positions and feels like much higher quality. The SB brace only has 3 positions and they aren't in the greatest positions for length of pull. The finish on this brace also mars very easily and it looks terrible on a clean piece of hardware.
