Phosphorylation of Ser-20 mediates stabilization of human p53 in ... - PNAS
Nov 23, 1999 · We analyzed the IR- and UV light-induced stabilization of p53 proteins with substitutions of Ser known to be posttranslationally modified after DNA damage. Substitution of Ser-20 was sufficient to abrogate p53 stabilization in response to both IR and UV light.
Critical role for Ser20 of human p53 in the negative regulation of p53 …
Substitution of Ser20 by Ala (p53-Ala20) significantly increases the susceptibility of human p53 to negative regulation by Mdm2 in vivo, as measured by apoptosis and transcription activation assays. Mutation of Ser20 to Ala renders p53 less stable …
The regulation of p53 by phosphorylation: a model for how …
Ser20 phospho-peptides or phospho-mimetic peptides can inhibit DNA-dependent acetylation of p53, showing an important role for this modification in driving p53 acetylation [32].
Critical role for Ser20 of human p53 in the negative regulation of p53 …
Apr 1, 1999 · Phosphorylation is an important level of p53 regulation. In response to DNA damage, p53 is phosphorylated at several N‐terminal serines. In this study we examined the role of Ser20, a potential phosphorylation site in human p53, in …
Critical role for Ser20 of human p53 in the negative ... - PubMed
Apr 1, 1999 · Substitution of Ser20 by Ala (p53-Ala20) significantly increases the susceptibility of human p53 to negative regulation by Mdm2 in vivo, as measured by apoptosis and transcription activation assays. Mutation of Ser20 to Ala renders p53 less stable and more prone to Mdm2-mediated degradation.
DNA damage-induced phosphorylation of p53 at serine 20
Dec 14, 2000 · We investigated the induction and physiological role of Ser20 phosphorylation of p53 in response to DNA damage caused by ionizing radiation (IR) or ultraviolet radiation (UV).
Phospho-p53 (Ser20) Antibody | Cell Signaling Technology
Phospho-p53 (Ser20) Antibody detects endogenous levels of p53 only when phosphorylated at serine 20. The antibody does not cross-react with p53 phosphorylated at other sites.
Phosphorylation of Thr18 and Ser20 of p53 in Ad-p53-induced ... - PubMed
Here we use Ad-p53 constructs to test the hypothesis that simultaneous phosphorylation of p53 at threonine 18 (Thr18) and serine 20 (Ser20) is causally associated with p53-mediated apoptosis.
We analyzed the IR- and UV light-induced stabilization of p53 proteins with substitutions of Ser known to be posttranslationally modified after DNA damage. Substitution of Ser-20 was sufficient to abrogate p53 stabilization in response to both IR and UV light.
DNA damage-induced phosphorylation of p53 at serine 20
Dec 14, 2000 · The phosphorylation of Ser20 of wild-type p53 correlated with enhanced induction of the p53 downstream target genes p21WAF1/Cip1 (p21) and mdm-2. These results suggest that DNA damage-induced phosphorylation of p53 at Ser20 enhances the transactivation function of p53 for p21 and mdm-2 in vivo.
