Jun 24, 2020 · That being said, you can fit an Avionix resin P-40E cockpit into the Trumpeter kit without too much hassle. I did this on my P-40F and it really didn't take much work at all, just reshaping the rear armor plate bulkhead to match the Trumpeter fuselage, and removing Trumpeter's fictional instrument coaming and a small portion of the fuselage sill.

Jun 24, 2020 · The Trumpeter P-40E kit's canopy parts directly from the Trumpeter website: Note that the cross section is curved all the way over the bows from one side to the other, and results in a bloated shape that is wide on top. That translates all the way down the spine, is right on top, and VERY obvious on a built model.

May 17, 2016 · None of our P 40E-1's (especially RNZAF) were repainted on arrival - more mythical nonsense. Texas longhorn was part of the British order, taken back by the USAAF due to aircraft shortage. I have shown that both the RAF serials between Texas Longhorn and mine (NZ3031) were not too far apart Good luck with your build Regards Alan
