The Fiat CM6614 is a 4x4 wheeled armoured personnel carrier developed as a joint venture between Fiat and Oto Melara of Italy. The hull is welded steel, and the vehicle is amphibious. [1] The first prototype was built in 1972.

The OTO R3 reconnaissance vehicle has been developed as a private venture by OTO Melara and the prototype was shown for the first time at the 1982 Italian Naval Exhibition held in Genoa. The lower part of the body, engine and mechanical groups are the same as on the special task vehicle Gorgona.

Dec 18, 2018 · As best I can tell, the vehicle itself is the R3 Capraia, and the weapon mount is the Otobreda T20. Presumably FA-HS is some abbreviation for the weapon in the mount, but I can't find anything on that one way or the other.

The R3 shared its automotive parts with the R2.5, but had a body consisting of angled aluminium armour with in places a maximum thickness of 32 mm, providing enough protection against 7.62 mm NATO small arms fire and shell splinters.
