Jun 5, 2019 · The new OCCT 5.0.1 Linpack with 90% memory size is going to fail on most people's overclocked systems if they are not doing directdie. It's more brutal than prime95 small FFT with AVX (29.8 build 3). Only AVX2 (FMA3) can come close to that, and OCCT also will stress the memory controller as well.

It's tied to the fact that when you buy a laptop equipped with a shiny new RTX3070 (for instance), that particular card will never be able to reach its peak power. It will cap much earlier than that. And OCCT will show you that shortcoming. This is why OCCT has a "limit" slider in this test btw ;)

Sep 20, 2023 · Yeah, OCCT is my tool of choice for doing all this crazy stuff. I go heavily into detail on why the adaptive test is so good for overclocking in the video linked in OP. 1650w seems like the absolute max I can pull right now - need to get a beefier PSU dedicated solely to the GPU while another PSU runs the rest.
