Nov 7, 2016 · There is an odd variant of USB numeric keypad, VZTEC VZ-UK2151, which had numeric key '5' as function key 'Tab'. See the following screenshot (bottom-left: enlarged image of the key) as proof. That 5 key works same as Tab key. It also works in GNU/Linux, even not listed as supported operating system besides Windows and Mac OS X.

The numpad key 5 doesn't work unless it is also pressed in conjunction with the windows key. This same behavior is exhibited with the virtual keyboard. I've also tried multiple different keyboards as I have a few extra laying around. So it appears to be some kind of software issue and not hardware related.

Num+ / Num- probably means the Plus or Minus Key on the Numpad. If you don't have a separate Numpad on your Notebook, you have to use another Key (in most cases it's labeled Fn) in conjuntion with that QWERTY-Key which is labeled + or - in the upper right corner.

Dec 27, 2015 · I want to be able to change the left and right arrows of the numpad to volume down and up and the 5 key to mute but still be able to keep the 4, 5 and 6 when numlock is on. I've tried using KeyTweak but it doesn't know the state of numlock and the key's functions. The default volume down, up and mute keys can only be used with the Fn key.

Mar 14, 2020 · Pressing the 5 numpad button will trigger the mouseclick event, while pressing 0 will trigger mousedown event. The mousedown won't let go until you press ., which is for mouseup. This pattern is complicated, and kinda annoying to use. Is there any way to change the behavior of these things?

Oct 21, 2020 · As a workaround, you can utilize numpad keys with NumLock off and an Autohotkey script that redefines the shortcut for your software. When NumLock is off, numpad keys are not affected by Shift. Update: In Reaper the problem is, that when you define a combo by a keypress via GUI setup, you cannot input Shift + Num keys combos.
