Apr 19, 2020 · I really love when Noya-san calls hinata 'Shoyo'. It just fills me with energy. Shoyo and Hinata-boke are the names that do justice to him and nothing else. They just feels especially made for him.. Arghh I can't describe the feeling in words, lolz.

Apr 21, 2021 · Like mentioned by others, Noya’s base motivation as a person seems to be about trying new things and taking them on. I think Noya chased the thrill of the challenge in volleyball more than anything related to the sport itself, and in travel he probably found an even bigger thrill, so he started chasing that instead.

Oct 10, 2017 · He was suspended from club activities but instead of sitting around being lazy he spent that time working hard for the betterment of his team, and he came back literally covered in bruises from it. ("NOYA-SAN!!" //insert crying Ryuu here) He has high expectations of others and he pushes them to those heights with his persistence and encouragement.

Aug 28, 2017 · Amazing! I didn't know I needed this in my life! Okay that's not 100% true. I spent a long time tracking if Tanaka only calls Nishinoya "Noya-san" or if he drops the honorific sometimes. This would have helped soooo much back then. This is also super interesting, especially considering the significance in what you are called in Japan.

Aug 11, 2018 · I don't have anything massively insightful to add like the others, but I find it interesting to look up the meanings of anime/manga characters' names, as many mangaka like to hide jokes or references in their character names (for instance, all of the coaches have a character of their schools' mascot animal in their name - "neko" in Nekomata means cat, "washi" in "Washijou" means eagle e.t.c.).
