Jul 27, 2015 · I buy the sushi nori/laver/algae from my local oriental market. I think they have stores all over...it's H-Mart....very clean and very large selection of algae. If you can find non-roasted, that's great. Otherwise roasted will still work with supposedly slightly less nutritional values. Note that the public aquariums use roasted.

Mar 14, 2020 · All eat some of the Nori, but obviously the Tangs are ravenous with it. I currently have 6 YT's (medium), 5 Hippo's (medium) and a Naso (medium). Will probably add around 5-6 more Tangs in the near future. I am currently giving them 1 nori sheet per day (in the morning), missing maybe one day per week on average.

Aug 17, 2020 · I just use; - Frozen mysis & brine (3 cubes of brine, 2 of mysis) - Natural film & short/long hair algae (I try to keep a form of either of these algaes growing on the back and right hand side walls for natural grazing purposes)
Do tangs need Nori? | Reef2Reef
Feb 5, 2021 · The purple settled in immediately and took to Nori and LRS. The Convict took a little longer but he’s been eating LRS as well but won’t touch Nori. I have been giving him Romaine lettuce which he has taken to. I know tangs need vegetation to avoid HLLE but if he doesn’t take to Nori is romaine enough to prevent this?

Jan 24, 2022 · No tangs but I do feed about 1/8 sheet of nori to some of my inverts (urchin/conch/etc) a few times a week. My only comments on nori are:-- cheap (on Amazon) and lasts forever-- left-over nubs that end up in the tank are good for a lot of CUC critters and don't seem like they rot into anything too bad for your tank parameters (IMO)

It is graded on things such as harvest area, palatability, vibrance, color, thickness, etc. There are also different species of seaweed. For instance we only package and sell Porphyra yezoensis which is sourced from a certified harvest area in Japan.

Oct 4, 2020 · Pictures worth thousand words, this is how I fold the nori. Through experiences, by the end of the day, all the nori is gone, other than the small piece in the clip. When I put the new piece of nori in, I just drop the leftover nori into the tank and the fishes will go after it and eat it in a few minutes. There is no nori wasted.

Aug 16, 2022 · I will give them a Nori treat maybe every 3-4 days, but I’m liking what I’m seeing by not over doing the free food. They are doing a better J.O.B. Of keeping the rocks clear of algae. It is fun watching them go after the Nori, but I guess even fish get lazy when they get free stuff. It’s also fun watching then keep the rocks clean. Jetson

Oct 25, 2018 · Try getting the red a or brown nori for the big tang I have a 5 inch length of 32mm pipe with a magnet set in resin in the end and I wrap the nori around the pipe and use another magnet to hold to the glass and all my fish come for a nibble including clowns, wrasses, angel, and tangs all come and graze.
