Oct 15, 2022 · I train neck every 2 or 3 days, flexion/extension superset. My neck has grown from 16.5 to 17.5 inches in about 5 months of consistent training. I would recommend it if you want a stronger or larger neck for whatever reason. I do it because I want a larger and stronger neck to aid me in grappling and help prevent concussions in striking and judo.

I’d focus on neck bridges using only body weight and making sure to stretch from ear to ear and as far back as necessary without pain. Thick necks come from the Trapezoid. Beginners can also use self-resistance just placing their hands on the back of the head and extending backwards, or making two fists placing them together like you are grabbing a wooden dowel and place on the forehead, resisting as you push the head forward.

If you have correct tongue posture and correct head posture you shouldn't have a problem. That doesn't mean you should do neck curls for two years every single day either.
