The Nauset people, sometimes referred to as the Cape Cod Indians, were a Native American tribe who lived in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. They lived east of Bass River and lands occupied by their closely related neighbors, the Wampanoag.

Nauset, any member of an Algonquian-speaking Native North American tribe that occupied most of what is now Cape Cod, in Massachusetts. The Nauset probably came into contact with Europeans at an early date because of their location, and Samuel de Champlain is known to have encountered them in 1606.

Aug 9, 2008 · Part of the southern New England Algonquin, the Nauset occupied Cape Cod from the Bass River east, sharing the Cape with the Wampanoag with whom they also shared a similar dialect.

Nauset Heights is an area along Nauset Beach and the National Seashore in East Orleans, Massachusetts, the outermost part of Cape Cod. Originally inhabited by the Nauset Indians, today Nauset Heights is home for more than 200 families, including summer residents and visitors from all over the world.
