Dec 30, 2022 · Local News View All. NAFI Rhode Island 2022 Employee Awards Announced Dec 30, 2022. Each year, NAFI recognizes and celebrates employees for the outstanding work they do in providing the highest level of innovative human and social services to individuals and families.

NAFI has been operating residential, foster care and community based programs in Rhode Island since 1989. The RI Continuum was established in 1994, connecting seven programs in a continuum of care, from most to least restrictive. In 2004, NAFI RI grew into a comprehensive network of nine programs, serving adolescents and adults.

NAFI RI operates several residential programs in Rhode Island. Our professional and dedicated staff utilize the Normative Approach as well as trauma informed, cultural and gender responsive approaches in assessment and treatment. In order to meet the changing needs of stakeholders and families of RI, the NAFI RI continues to develop innovative in-home services for clients and their families. These may include simply transition services or treatment services that begin in our residential settings and expand treatment into our clients homes well beyond discharge.
