Mar 21, 2023 · Mordheim works because Pirinen did a clever thing of making it a Skirmish Rules for Warhammer game AND an RPG in how the rules work (flavour vs balance) and also how the Campaign and meta-progression worked and also the whole milieu and setting and scale being more character-driven like RPGs.

I pitted them against my friend's first warband as well, and over the course of our three-or-so games I found my boys getting absolutely slaughtered each time.

May 23, 2022 · Movement in Mordheim is a mess. There are A LOT of rules that impairs movement (Run blocking, hard terrain, climbing, knocked down...) and that only benefits shoot over close quarters. Which makes skavens and elves (if you allowed them) the kings of Mordheim. Magic is useless and unbalanced. Unbalanced is a word that I will be using a lot.
