Mar 14, 2015 · This led me to the Mogami w2524. This cable is medium capacitance, like the Lyric HG, so there were high hopes. Yes, the Mogami w2524 is in the ball park of the Lyric HG, at a fraction of the price. Of course, IMHO, YMMV, and all that, but I feel it's very close. Maybe a little less emphasis on the highs with the Mogami, but splitting hairs.

Mar 17, 2024 · I had the same experience with Mogami 2524, i.e. good cable but coils up too easily, and capacitance is a little high for my liking (130pF/m). There are different Sommer cables available, and the one I like is Sommer Spirit XXL (86pF/m) that's nice and flexible and sounds clear but without emphasizing high end too much.

Oct 20, 2023 · It's more flexible (something OP specifically wanted) and far easier to strip and solder than the Sommer (which has insulation that is harder to cut and weaved copper shielding that takes longer to prep for solder than the Mogami). I also agree that the Sommer cable has a lower capacitance than the Mogami 2524.

Jan 16, 2018 · I just switched to EBS flat cables but I was previously using mogami 2524 patch cable and eminence pancake jacks soldered to custom lengths. No issues at all. A bit thinner than standard instrument cable helps them make the bends needed to getting around a pedalboard. I was using decent cables before and after though.

Mar 17, 2024 · The Oyaide connectors are very high quality and I prefer their products to Mogami. You can buy bulk cables and connectors or finished products. The finished Oyaide cables are much less than Mogami even though the bulk Oyaide cable is 6 times more expensive than the bulk Mogami 2524. Oyaide patch cable connectors.

Mar 17, 2024 · If I buy Mogami made guitar cables I normally go with the Silver. What Mogami charges for a completely assembled gold guitar cable is silly. If from a maker, then Mogami 2524. I think George L sound the best, FWIW. Just a little too fragile for me. On microphone/balanced cables, I like non-quad Canare the best. I normally make my own.

Feb 7, 2021 · I like to make my own in various lengths using bulk cable from Best-Tronics. They have Mogami 2524 for less than $1.00 (USD) per foot, and the "NN" (same cable without the Mogami logo printed on the jacket) for about half that. Neutrik phone plugs have the best strain relief, but I like G&H plugs.

Aug 15, 2022 · Thanks just got cheapest price of $53 with free shipping over $49 at performance. Cheapest mogami cable per foot. Was able to build three mogami cables with total 26 foot of cable (cut for each down to size) and Neutrik gold connectors. Redco does not sell neutrik which is all I use. And more expensive Mogami cable as well.
