Maungamgan Beach (also spelled Maung Ma Gan or Maung Ma Kan) is probably the most popular beach in the area. It is located about 12 kilometers west of Dawei, and it’s a very popular beach amongst the locals.

Local fishing trips can be arranged and you can watch local people haul in the nets on the beach. We hired motor scooters on the beach. Very cheap and lots of fun. This is not a five star resort but a really friendly little fishing town. We spent five nights here and loved it.

Maungkan is a village on the Chindwin River in Homalin Township, Hkamti District, in the Sagaing Region of northwestern Burma. It is located next to Chaungson and south of Tason.
