He is a high school student living in the fictional town of Hill Valley, California, who accidentally becomes a time traveler and alters history after his scientist friend Emmett Brown invents a DeLorean time machine.

Pulling out the newspaper page, Marty saw the headline change from GEORGE McFLY MURDERED to GEORGE McFLY HONORED. Grabbing his walkie talkie, an overjoyed Marty informed Doc that the newspaper story had changed and that his father was alive.

Eric Stoltz (pictured in 2009) was cast as Marty McFly and spent several weeks filming Back to the Future before the role was re-cast. Michael J. Fox was the first choice to portray Marty McFly.
