Sep 4, 2012 · The adjustable trigger on the Marlin is decent at factory setting. Havent messed with it yet. My Rem is 2 lb and I had to do work on the Savage to get it just OK. Right now just have a not to bad Bushnell 3X9 on it. Wasnt to pleased with the bolt in the X7..I had to polish it up, which is no big deal, but now is smooth, well to suit me.

May 31, 2015 · The short action Marlin X-7 takes the same bases as a Winchester short action Model 70. The cheap Aluminum one piece base that came on the rifle came right off. It looked like Marlin used some type of thread adhesive. But whatever it was, it didn't hold worth crap. I cleaned everything and soft assembled the bases and rings on the rifle.

Sep 26, 2012 · the Marlin is a better rifle than the Stevens, because of the adjustable trigger, pillar bedded stock and much more accurate, and priced better. the Marlin X7 series is much closer in comparison to the Remington M700, the Winchester M70 or even the Weatherby Vanguard rifles in finish and accuracy.
