Its basically the same steps in reverse with a couple of minor differences. the first is that you need to make sure that the 7 little plastic rivets are are not still in the locked position, you can tell the difference by looking at these two pics I blatantly stole from someone else's write-up.

Mar 7, 2017 · My mk4, mk5 and current mk6 occasionally did this too, if the switch does function then it IS a simple reset as stated above, be sure though to hold the switch up all the way to the top and continue holding it up 5 - 10 seconds after the window has closed, do the same for the down function and you will be fixed!, sometimes doesn't work first go if not held long enough!
