Jan 8, 2012 · With that being said, if your laptop already has an MXM 3.0 (a or b) card, the cooler you have will work with any other MXM 3.0b card. If you don't already have a card and plan on adding one, then you would need to find the stock GPU cooler assembly for your laptop. Currently doesn't contain a MXM card.

Mar 8, 2022 · I think by the 1070 generation, most (all?) of the Alienwares had dropped MXM 3.0b compatibility. The 1070 is going to be pretty close to maxed out, the 1080 is close enough to not make a really tangible difference and there was never a 1080Ti laptop part.
