Super slow post - [H]ard|Forum
Oct 2, 2023 · I've found that MSI AM4 and AM5 motherboards took quite a long time to post to begin with. I used to have an MSI X570S Carbon. Now I have an MSI X670E Carbon. AM5 also tends to want you to do the memory training crap every time it boots, otherwise you have a lot of instability as I understand it. Unfortunately, you just have to eat it.

MSI X670E Carbon won't reboot reliably - DDR5 issue?
Jan 31, 2010 · I think MSI AM4 and AM5 boards have longer boot times by default, too. I know my MSI X570S Carbon had pretty long boot times, comparatively, too. No idea why. My default XMP profile for the RAM sticks I have set it to 1.4V, so I'm assuming that should be fine... since it was default. My SOC as dictated by the motherboard seems to be set at ...
Ryzen Motherboard that supports DDR4 ECC - [H]ard|Forum
Nov 14, 2018 · As others have said, registered will not work on any AM4. ECC Unbuffered is what you need. Asrock and Asus support ECC on all AM4 boards I believe. MSI doesn't support ECC at all from what I know. Gigabyte only supports ECC on boads with higher layer counts which would include the X470 Gaming 7, and some older boards too like AX370 Gaming 5 and ...
Long Boot Time for AM5 Normal? - [H]ard|Forum
Apr 9, 2024 · Used to have a MSI MAG B650M Mortar and it had a long boot, before I updated the BIOS it would take an agonising 2 minutes just to POST, updating to the latest BIOS would take more than 30 seconds which is an improvement but not great. Disabling XMP/EXPO would further decrease the boot time.
AM4 Vcore VRM ratings - [H]ard|Forum
Jul 2, 2019 · There are very good VRM's on other boards though, for example the MSI Creation X570 uses a doubled 7 phase for the CPU, but the Gigabyte Extreme uses a native 14 phase. The MSI creation actually uses better mosfets (IR3555 vs IR3556) that handle 60A per phase instead of 50A (14 on each board).

Options for keeping AM4 going for 3+ more years? - [H]ard|Forum
Mar 28, 2010 · Refurb MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk WIFI for about $160?). I guess I should look at the FS/Trade forum too, but I don't have any Heat so I tend to stay away from there. It feels like I probably should have done this a year or two ago, but I wanted to post and see if anyone has any advice or is also trying to keep AM4 going for a few more years.
