Jul 3, 2019 · MSD 85551 distributor, Taylor wires checked and are good, rotor phasing looks good. Only thing that's made a difference is using a coil that's not compatible. Runs & sounds completely different with no popping or noise at all. Runs perfect.

Mar 16, 2021 · I have a older MSD 85551 SBC distributor that's been on my shelf awhile and someone cut the plug off. I got a new plug, but not sure which way the wires go into the plug. The two distributor wires are black with orange stripe and black with purple stripe. Any ideas?
