The MRT Line 5 (Bengali: এমআরটি লাইন ৫, romanised: Em-Ar-Ti Lain Pachh) is an approved mass rapid transit line of Dhaka Metro Rail. It will be the third line of the Dhaka Metro Rail system. This line comprises Northern Route and Southern Route.

The Southern Route (Bengali: সাউদার্ন রুট) is one of the branches of the approved MRT Line 5 line of Dhaka Metro Rail; the other one being the Northern Route. This route is currently in its planning stages. The construction of the Southern Route could begin in 2025 and is scheduled to commence operation by 2031. [1]
