Oct 13, 2020 · The 4AGZE ECU will be no good, it'll run, but you'll be better off going with a standalone ecu solution (especially if you're trying to hit 11k). The wiring is also different between a 4AGZE and the 20Vs. Even the ST and the BT have different wiring from one another. All the more reason for a standalone.

May 10, 2017 · I'm not sure the 4AGZE is heavier than the 3S-GE. But I would bet the weight difference between the 2 packages is less than 50 lbs. Here's the thread on the MR2 forum for my engine swap. I fabricated engine mounts based on notes from MR220V, a very knowledgeable forum user. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Dec 3, 2015 · I read a couple places that the bearing can't be replaced. Could be wrong, but found this quote on some mr2 forums. "The tensioner pulleys on the GZE are weird bearings. The bearing itself is a press fit just like all the rest. But the inner race is the same piece that gets clamped to the bracket to hold the tensioner in place.

4AGZE Alternator: 27060-16131 4AGE Alternator: 27060-16082 Both original manufacturers were Nippon Denso. Both are 70 amps. Both use the same internals, but plugs are different, and the mounting tab at the "top" of the alternator leans to the opposite side. Basically, they are not interchangeable.

4age to 4agze - MOSTLY plug and play. the difficult part of the 4agze swap is sourcing everything... they're rare and expensive. aside from the engine, transmission, harness and ecu - the rear knuckles would need to be swapped. detail... 85 & 86 had the same rear suspension. 87-89 had a revised rear suspension. they are NOT the same.

Nov 28, 2018 · Own both. 4AGZE is much more punchy everywhere in the rev range. 2ZZ is ONLY better over the stupidly high 6800rpm lift engagement, and you fall out of that between shifts. Reply reply refuge9

2ar is just too expensive of a swap solely because of the price of an eb60/eb62 coupled with 2ar prices. I definitely considered it, but I got a steal of a pretty solid 4agze longblock assembly, harness, standalone MS2E, for $300 with the SC transmission, so it's about the cheapest it gets. Especially with my friend offering me a TT ct20 setup.
