Honestly, a big part of what got me into G5 when it was revealed was that it felt like a spiritual successor to G2 with how the ponies were designed (and G2 is one of my favorite MLP generations so it was a huge plus)!

Sep 27, 2021 · The generations are the different iterations/reboots of MLP. Hasbro reboots MLP every ten years or so. G1 lasted through the 80s and early nineties. It began with a few specials, then a movie and then two series. My Little Pony n’ Friends and My Little Pony Tales (It’s commonly mistaken to be G2). This is the longest lasting generation so far.

G2 failed pretty massively in all areas. I like mlp tales, but that's mostly because i watched it as a kid lol. that show also pretty much failed, at least partly because it was targeted at middle schoolers, but was broadcasted when middle schoolers were at school. G3 toys are really pretty too, but I can't handle the animations.

Jan 22, 2024 · I had pretty much grew much with friendship is Magic and whenever the words “my little pony” came up I had always thought of G4 over any other generation, it wasn’t until I was in the fandom when I found out there were other generations way before friendship is Magic but I didn’t see many people talk about them and they didn’t seem that popular before the rise of friendship is Magic ...

G5 > G4 > G2 > G4.5 > G5.5 > G1 > G3 > G3.5 Of everything pre G4, G2 is the most horselike and most appealing to me. I rank G5 at the top because they are cute, very horselike, fuzzy, and have really nice mane textures. For stylized, non-horsey designs, G4 is the best because it is simple, has good proportions, and has good colors.
