Nov 25, 2023 · Overhead fire M80 ball is just a copper jacket. Non-overhead fire M80 ball has a mean radius standard of 7.5 inches at 600 yards with no extreme spread standard. Overhead fire M80 ball has a mean radius of 5 inches at 600 yards with an extreme spread of 25 inches standard. Both have a MV of 2750 fps +/- 50 at 70 degrees Fahrenheit +/- 2 degrees.

Aug 22, 2010 · Re: M80 Ball - magnetic bullets? The U S Military specification for M-80 ball calls for a 147 gr. mild steel jacketed bullet. When the Military starting to use the 7.62X 51MM cartridge, the first ammunition used the M-59 ball, which was a 150 gr bullet with an iron core.

Nov 23, 2020 · The 7.62mm M80 bullet weighs 147-149gr and is a boattail. The 150gr .30 cal M2 (.30-06) is flat base. Neither was known for its accuracy, with exception to .30 cal M2 ball produced at the Denver Ordnance Plant during WWII.

Aug 13, 2024 · Bought some Saltech M80 from SGAmmo. Good price.. but my experience is not great. Plinking with steel. Ok. But seriously inconsistent. Even inconsistent when closing the bolt. Some lighter force, some heavy. All do close though. My accuracy out of a Remington 700 SPS with 20" barrel varied from 2.5MOA to 5MOA.
