Armour-piercing, capped, ballistic capped (APCBC) is a type of configuration for armour-piercing ammunition introduced in the 1930s to improve the armour-piercing capabilities of both naval and anti-tank guns.

The 76 mm gun M1 was an American World War II –era tank gun developed by the U.S United States Ordnance Department in 1942 to supplement the 75 mm gun on the basic Medium tank M4. It was also used to arm the M18 Hellcat tank destroyer.

Oct 12, 2008 · What is the primary AP ammo for the Sherman M4A3 (76), the M62 or M79? And what is the most numerous AP ammo for the T-34-85, the BR-365 APBC or BR-365K Shot? I can understand the why the Russians issued two basic 85mm as the APBC was more effective, but the M79 actually pentrated more armor than the APBC M62. So why would anyone use the later?
