Jan 24, 2025 · The M11-A1 is only an 1/8" less in height (I said earlier that it was 1/2") there is no rail. I have both 226's and 228's even though the M11-A1 is really a 229. 228's have a 13 round capacity. The 228's are earlier to carry and are better balanced IMO.

Nov 6, 2023 · The M11-A1 (P229) deserves all the love it has received. My opinion is it's one of the best law enforcement handguns. For me, the P229 in .40 S&W was the best handgun I carried on duty and I carried more than a few. I always knew I'd own a P229 in 9MM.

Mar 5, 2014 · I just recently joined the SIG family ( I just bought a M11-A1 ). My question is what has been the best performing 9mm defensive load for the P229? I've done plenty of research for loads for a Glock 19, but I plan to switch to my M11-A1 once I feel that I have put plenty time behind the trigger with it. I'm open to any advise and/or opinions.

Feb 9, 2025 · I do think most M11-A1 pistols come with the short reach trigger "the thinner trigger" installed. I'm not a fan of it I get pinched. I have good size hands wear XL or XXL gloves. So I swap my stuff to the standard trigger. Along with the short reset trigger kit and the Super Strut. IMO that's a pretty sweet setup for a EDC or range gun.

A brand new, large LGS opened two weeks ago and they have several (all the low, low price of 1100! LOL) in stock. I even lucked out and one of my M11-A1s came with a chrome lined barrel.
