Jun 24, 2014 · To get libpng.so.15 you need to emerge media-libs/libpng:1.5 To get libjpeg.so.8 you need to emerge =media-libs/jpeg-8* To get their 32-bit versions, you need to ensure that ABI_X86="32" is enabled for these packages. Be aware that media-libs/jpeg will conflict with media-libs/libjpeg-turbo.

Dec 21, 2021 · The apng patches to libpng is a non-standard thing that actually breaks chromium (I think it supports apng some other way if it still does? haven't really read about it). Firefox/Thunderbird now has a way to turn off system-png and use the bundled copy to allow coexisting without mangling the system's libpng.

Jun 21, 2021 · In current plasma (5.22.1) I'm not able to lock screen. It shows message that screen locker is broken and I have switch into terminal and unlock session via command.

Jul 20, 2010 · I just tried gv again. And it works. Finally. It looks like the libpng upgrade might have altered a font path or some such. Fixing libpng dependencies and re-emerging the font packages seems to have restored ghostscript and gv. This is not very elegant, but it worked. Incidentally, gimp started working again too. Thanks to those who posted.

Dec 3, 2002 · Unmerged and emerge libpng. Then Kdevelop could not find libpng.so.2 even though it is sitting in /usr/lib. I would unmerge Kdevelop except that that would mean rebuild practically the entire system! My question is, "What order did you do the unmerge re-emerge?" Perhapst the libpng should be done first then the Ghostscritpt.
