Apr 13, 2020 · 5e is very lore-light so you shouldn't worry about bringing in old canon. It's written so you can take the basic details they give you and run with them or go hunting down old canon to add to your game. Personally, I do a bit of both but ultimately I use 5e's lore as a jumping-off point for my own creative work.
