Dec 26, 2009 · Hi everyone, Hope you all have had a great Christmas. Just thought I would show off my latest acquisition: the Laney Cub 8, a small 5w all valve amp . It sounds fantastic, has a nice break up when you crank it, especially once …
Laney Cub 8 for $75 is that a good deal? - Telecaster Guitar Forum
Nov 5, 2019 · The Cub 10 definitely has an extension speaker output. (Don't know about the Cub 8.) That's handy because the Cub cabinet is small, made of particle board, and can be a little boxy sounding in a band context. I have a large open back Mojotone 12 inch cab that I sometimes gig with the Cub 10.

Dec 8, 2019 · I have a Laney Cub 8. Changed the speaker, to a Warehouse G8C. And put in new Tung Sol tubes. Oh, and switched out the ugly ultra cheap white chicken head pointer knobs for brown bakelite ones. My Gibby LP Special with P90's sounds very sweet, lots of clean headroom. Maybe for some even too clean (due to the Warehouse speaker: it is pretty ...
NAD: Laney Cub 8 - Telecaster Guitar Forum
Oct 26, 2022 · In my quest for budget champ goodness, I found this Laney Cub 8 - single 12ax7, single 6v6gt, 8" speaker. It sounds really good, but haven't had a chance to run it wide open yet and really give it a run. The main thing I notice is that the lower the volume, the brighter the amp is. It really darkens up quite a bit above 5 on the volume knob.
Speaker for Laney CUB 8 - Telecaster Guitar Forum
Feb 14, 2013 · Hi, I'm new here. I recently bought a Laney CUB 8. I like the clean sound pretty much, but didn't like the way it souds with OD and dist. pedals. Sounds like a small radio, nasal tones and biting with pedals. Talking with some more experienced guys, they told me to change the speaker for a larger speaker, like a 12".
Laney Cub 8 speaker upgrade suggestions... - Telecaster Guitar …
Oct 22, 2022 · I have a Laney Cub 8 inbound and am anticipating I will want to upgrade the speaker. Want to get the amp as close to champ territory as is possible, as much as the stock circuit allows such a thing. I believe the amp accepts 8 or 16 ohm speakers, but going with 8 ohm as that is probably whats stock - a celestion 8" speaker of sorts, probably ...
Laney Cub 10 vs Fender Tweed Champ....thoughts?
Aug 5, 2022 · The Laney Cub 8 is more like the Champ than the Cub 10. The Monoprice 5W is supposedly a rebranded Laney Cub 8 and can be bought new for $135. The Cub 10 does have a larger speaker and a master volume, so it may be better for you depending on what you want. I have the Monoprice and would probably prefer the Cub 10 due to the master volume- I ...
Any thoughts on the Laney Cub? - Telecaster Guitar Forum
May 9, 2019 · I had a Laney Cub 15 head I bought for very little and it was quite a good little jigger. It had enough oomph for clean headroom in a gigging situation and the half power setting worked. It had a sort of thickness or contour control that added a sort of midrange boost to the tone, could go from quite scooped Fendery to throaty Marshally.
Any experience with the Bugera V5 Infinium 5 watt amp?
Oct 30, 2020 · The Monoprice 5 Watt is a clone of the Laney Cub 8 ( named for the speaker size ). To my ears, the Laney, and by extension the Monoprice, wiped the floor with the Bugera. The VHT is up another level.

Jun 21, 2010 · I've had a Cub 10 and just bought a Cub 8, so thought I'd check in. The Cub 10 had a Celestion G10 Vintage when I bought it, and the amp was big sounding! I loved the 6v6 sound and the different tones, and through a 4x12, wow! What I couldn't live with was the beady sounding mains hum (not single coil hum), and I sold it, but I do miss it. So I ...
