Our preschool programs are located in most of our elementary schools and at Lincoln Northwest High School and Lincoln Standing Bear High School. Children who are at least 3 years of age on or before July 31, 2025 and who have not yet turned five as of July 31, 2025, are eligible to apply.

Lincoln Public Schools provides a comprehensive 3.5 hour preschool program where all children learn through play, make choices, increase social skills, and build confidence. Children may be bused to neighborhood elementary school sites where programs are available (see available locations listed below). Our half-day preschool program provides:

Services Available to Children & Families: Student/Parent Program – For pregnant and/or parenting youth. Half-Day Preschool – 3.5 hour preschool sessions in the morning or afternoon in a variety of elementary buildings across town.

We do this by offering a variety of free quality programs from birth, including our student child learning centers, our birth-five early childhood special education services and half-day preschool with several options to best meet the needs of families.
