Feb 17, 2023 · The original PRR F7's were painted in Brunswick Green -which in archival photos looks virtually black. I did experiment with making this in Lego Dark Green, but it's definitely not dark enough. Thoughts and opinions?

Oct 24, 2023 · The EMD F7 is a model of 1,500-horsepower diesel-electric locomotive produced between February 1949 and December 1953 by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors (EMD) and General Motors Diesel (GMD).

Jul 23, 2014 · Units 8588 and 89 were special order SD7's built in October of 1953 with modifications that made their assignment exclusive to Madison Hill. During their years of service one unit was assigned to the hill while the other was assigned to nearby Hawthorne Yard where it was used for switching duty and getting its scheduled inpsections.

The EMD SD7 is a model of 6-axle diesel locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between May 1951 and November 1953. It had an EMD 567B 16- cylinder engine producing 1,500 horsepower (1.12 MW) for its six traction motors.

It was designed to demonstrate the advantages of duplex drives espoused by Baldwin Chief Engineer Ralph P. Johnson. It was the longest and heaviest rigid frame reciprocating steam locomotive that was ever built. The streamlined Art Deco styled shell of the locomotive was designed by Raymond Loewy.
