This L8-L9 figure was released in wave 8 in 2009's Legacy Collection as a build-a-droid figure. L8-L9 can be seen in chapter 6 of the 2D animated Tartkovsky Clone Wars TV show during the scenes where Asajj Ventress battles all kinds of monsters in the Rattatakian test arena, before becoming Count Dooku's apprentice.

L8-L9 used its flame throwing arms to kill Ventress, and wiped out several other gladiators in the process. Ventress easily avoided the flames and used the Force to crush and destroy L8-L9. This was the first build-a-droid in the Red TLC line, and consisted of 6 parts.
