Or does it hold true for other kinds of transactions as well, say for example if I transfer some USDT from another exchange to my Kraken's USDT wallet address and vice versa?

With Kraken, I was always able to get a hold of a real person within 5 minutes and have the issue resolved within an hour or two. I have read many horror stories regarding Coinbase but none with Kraken. IMO Kraken is the way to go.
