Korn (stylized as KoЯn) is an American nu metal band from Bakersfield, California, originally formed in 1993 by James "Munky" Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu and David Silveria, who were members of the band L.A.P.D.

For 25 years, Korn stood stalwart in metal, “nu” or not (a genre they despise but have made peace with). Their then-radical sound incorporated goth, funk and hip-hop with blisteringly miserable lyrics.
